Fitness & Swim Team
Elixr has brought together the best team of Group Exercise and Swim instructors in the country who teach Spin, Power (pump style), Low and High Impact Aerobics. Our Swim Instructors are equipped to teach all skill levels in group and one-on-one sessions. -
Alana Dowsett
Growing up on the North Coast with the ocean at her front door ignited Alana's love for water.
Alana feels it’s vital that every Australian should be given the opportunity to learn the lifesaving skill of swimming.
Combining her passion of child development, health, and her love of water, Alana went on to join the Elixr Swim Team.

Belinda Hawes
Belinda has been teaching group exercise classes since 2006 including Spin, Step Aerobics, Body Attack and Pump classes. As well as teaching classes, Belinda has also worked as a Personal Trainer.
Belinda enjoys seeing the physical and mental difference people achieve through exercise, and she loves the atmosphere of a room full of hard working members on the spin bikes!

David Cohen
David has been teaching swim since 2007 after swimming competitively for many years.
He spends his time teaching, volunteering, and studying Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney.
David has a great passion in informal education for children.

Jari Rehula
Jari started teaching Group Fitness in Canberra in the mid-eighties before moving to Sydney and joining the team at RCM Healthland with Richard Chew in the early ‘90’s. His popularity and status soon opened the opportunity for him to give regular presentations at National and International Fitness conventions.
Jari initially taught at the Bondi club when it opened, but in 2006 moved back to Canberra to successfully open his own gym, which Richard help him establish.
Jari is delighted to be back with us: "Elixr is the friendliest gym in Sydney, no posers or pretentious people….always has been."

Lee Adamthwaite
Lee began swimming before he could even walk and now has a passion for everything water related.
Along with his love for swimming and surfing, Lee is also an active member of Tamarama Surf Life Saving Club where he volunteers his time to make the beach a safer place.
Lee is currently studying Neuroscience and Psychology at the the University of Sydney with the aim to one day be a doctor.

Lisa Marangon
Lisa regularly competes as a professional triathlete, and as a mum with her 9 year old little boy!
Lisa teaches Swimming and Aqua Aerobics classes at Elixr. Lisa's triathalon experience, positive energy, and caring nature makes her a unique and wonderful teacher.

Marcus Irwin
Former Dual World Aerobic Champion and international presenter in over 50 countries to an estimated audience of 1 million, Marcus currently divides his time creating the “Dance Fusion” program specifically for Elixr as well as producing his own range of evolution Fitness Training DVD’s and as Production Director of the eGX Online Education course for Network Australia.

Manu Wakely
Manu has been involved in the fitness industry since 1998. He has taught an array of styles including Step Aerobics, Pump and Aqua, as well as leading Professional Athletic Teams through specific fitness training.
Manu has also had his own experience in the professional arena of physicality, representing Australia in touch football and being a member of the Elite Military Special Forces from 2002 to 2006.
Manu primarily teaches Power, but also instructs Step and Pilates. His classes are strong, and technically challenging. He particularly enjoys the atmosphere and the energy of people in group exercise classes.

Marian Otten
Group Exercise CoordinatorWith 20 years of living her passion in the fitness industry, Marian teaches Group Exercise Classes, Spin and Pilates. Enthusiastic and compassionate, her personal training clients extend to a wide range of people, including people with disabilities.
Marian has a vivacious personality and an addiction to Golf.

Nina Cruz
For several years, Nina worked as a Social Worker supporting and helping intellectually disabled people gain living skills in the community. Her drive and passion for fitness eventually led Nina down a different path to Elixr where she teaches Spin classes.
Nina believes that anybody can benefit from a Spin class due to the cardiovascular benefits, and says it's a fun ride that has people always coming back for more!

Ruben Rocha
Teaching spin, Ruben brings a contagious energy to every class. Fuelled by his passion for helping people achieve and his love for fitness, every class is full of great beats, dynamic sets and challenging drills.
Involved in the fitness industry for over 5 years Ruben has travelled across the globe personal training, teaching classes and presenting health well being seminars to thousands of people. Finally settled back in Sydney Ruben loves being part of the Elixr fitness team.

Victoria Rich
Swim School CoordinatorVictoria coordinates the Elixr Swim School. She has taught swimming for 15 years in the UK, USA and Australia, working in a wide variety of swim schools and teaching environments from indoor pleasure pools and Olympic diving centres. Victoria is qualified and well experienced to teach with all ages 6 months to adults; she loves the pool and the rewards of seeing children progress in swimming as a sport and an essential life skill.
Outside of the pool she has a very active lifestyle at home being mum to three children aged 8, 3, and 2.
