Acupuncture is an ancient therapeutic technique which has been proved to have promising analgesic effect on chronic pain disorders. Yvette uses acupuncture to help reduce pain and inflammation, and to help stimulate the circulation which helps to enhance healing of the injured area. This helps trigger the body’s own healing and recovery. Fine acupuncture needles are placed on certain areas of the body. Depending on the individual’s concern, cupping may be used as well as Moxa, Electro acupuncture, massage, and dietary and herbal advice to help obtain the best results. Electro-Acupuncture is an important form of acupuncture where a small electric current is passed between pairs of acupuncture needles. It is effective in chronic pain conditions such as knee osteoarthritis, neck and low back pain.
Cosmetic Acupuncture works by stimulating the skin's dermis and underlying muscles, resulting in increased elastin and collagen production. It gives the skin a glowing and more youthful look with no down time. After an individual diagnosis, massage and Gua Sha is used to relax and invigorate the facial muscles. Fine acupuncture needles are inserted into strategic points on the face to help diminish fine lines, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, increase collagen production and improve the texture of the skin. LED lights are also used during the treatment to help further enhance the energy production in the cells of the skin.
